Anderson Community Television is a Local Community Access Station.  It serves the residents of Anderson Township (Hamilton County, Ohio).  We have all the equipment and facilities needed to produce YOUR own television show or air a special event.  The show is cablecast on Time Warner Cable.  Tune into Channels 8 (15 on cable-ready TV sets), 15 (22 on cable-ready), 18 and 24 to see some of the shows that are currently submitted by local residents.

Anderson Community Television

is a place where YOU become the producer!

We will loan you a camcorder to tape your show and have editing equipment to use in formatting your videotapes and dvds. Once your video tape or dvd is submitted for broadcasting, we have the equipment for cablecasting your program on Time Warner Cable.  We also have classes in which we offer basic training on how to use our equipment.

EVERYTHING IS ABSOLUTELY FREE with the proviso that damaged equipment is reimbursed. To use our facilities, you must show proof of residency, attend an Orientation session and then simply choose which type of equipment you would like to use to produce your show or event.

If you are the owner of a business or are working with a non-profit organization, we have excellent opportunities to help you raise awareness of your service within the community.  We look forward to working with you as together, we discover better ways to enhance the environment in which we live.

We have a dedicated team of staff and affiliates to assist you.

Our staff's focus on competency, integrity and superior customer service is the foundation upon which ACT is built.

It would be a pleasure to hear from you.

Station Background: Anderson Community Television (ACT) began as a cooperative effort between the Anderson Township Trustees and Forest Hills School District. In November of 1987 a public access studio was realized and located at 8544 Beechmont Avenue where space, equipment and staff were allocated to provide training for community productions.  The facility was funded by cable franchise fees.  Subsequently Forest Hills relinquished management of the facility and the Anderson Township Trustees managed the facility via an Advisory Committee, which recommended a non-profit organizational structure for the long-term management of the facility.

The Board of Advisors then incorporated as Anderson Community Television and negotiated a contract to provide access service to the community in 1993. In 1995 the Board of Trustees of Anderson Township expanded the contract to include Union Township and the facility became Anderson Community Television. Union Township is no longer included.

Mission Statement: Anderson Community Television (ACT) shall provide for the residents of Anderson:

1.       A public and open forum based on their First Amendment rights of free speech, with no editorial control or technical control over their productions.

2.       A non-discriminatory membership and democratic forum for its users by which its users have direct involvement in its management and operations.

3.       A broad and diverse voluntary participation by an assertive outreach effort within the community.

4.       Quality equipment and training program for the users, which will result in self-sufficient programming.

5.       Development of community support for the facility and its mission.

6.       A medium by which community self-awareness can be achieved and intra-community communication can be realized.
